I am from Tulsa, Ok and have begun my ancestry search on ancestry.com.  I am on the Cherokee rolls of Oklahoma and have traced my lineage back to Annie Beehunter and Hannah Falling Leaf of the Wolf tribes of Georgia.

Looking to find out more about my bloodlines, and any stories we can find/verify.

Major John Downing is our relation as well.

About Me

Siyo-

My fiancee and I live on a horse farm and love being country folks.

My Grandfather taught me about Cherokee ways as I was growing up. Hunting, fishing, tracking and general survival in the woods were things we shared together. He taught me some of the language and to revere our Mother. I miss him very much, he was my hero.

I have worked for some interesting Indian projects over the years, doing websites in the early days of the internet for the Great Lakes Indian Fish and Wildlife Commission (GLIFWC) and working for Great Lakes Indian Regional American Indian Network (GLRAIN)

Also I am a proud member of The Native American Journalists Association (NAJA). Hopefully I'll be teaching journalism this summer to local kids at the Community College nearby. I am working on a book and a few articles right now as well. Of course stories dealing with Indigenous People are my primary focus but any stories which involve healing or gaining wisdom can grab my heart and interest at any time.

I look forward to meeting folks and pow wowing this summer.

Wado brothers and sisters!

Kia

About Me

I spend my time traveling, reading, occasionally speaking at scientific conferences related to communication privacy and working on issues related to indigenous sovereignty. I have traveled among and seen the northern lights with the Sámi, and have been south to Cape Town.  Wherever I have gone, I have never met someone who was somehow less a human being than anyone else.  We are all blessed with equal dignity, and as relatives, it is long past time all were respected as such.

I am disabled, but keep on going as best as I can, thanks to God and my husband, David.

About Me

According to the things which were told me by my father and grandmother, my greatgrandmother was in the Black Mtn. area of N.C. , just above Ashville and a full blood, 100% Cherokee woman. Apparently with each successive generation downward to the present Great Grandma Isabelle was the beginning and end of our NAI lineage. All of the marriages, children, etc. leading to myself were of European descent. With greatgrandmother being 100% Cheokee, partt of EBCI, my grand ma was 1/2 and all of her children were 1'4 Cherokee. Because my father and grandmother had taught me from early on that one of my primary ancestors, and not all that far back, was full blooded Cherokee Indian from the Piedmont areas of Northern Georgia all the way up through Southern Va. and parts of W.Va.

It's kind of funny in a weird sort of way to many who've known me throughout the years, and that is as a blue eyed blonde who has spent the majority of my life in the sun, playing as a child, swimming, camping, and working as an adult framing carpenter all-year around, I have never, ever had a sun burn. Instead, I always turned a coppertone type of red without ever using any kind of oils or lotions. Frankly I think those things oft cause folks to burn, and burn badly!!

Right now with the help of a couple special Cherokee friends, you know who you are :'-), I'm slowly but surely beginning to learn my native language and Sequoia's syllabry!! I'll get there, Creator willing.

The great lady who's put up with me for the past 21 years, Lani, is 1/8th Seneca, as her greatgrandfather was a Seneca Medicine Man. As the story goes, the old man was tough as nails, mean as snake s..t, and often abusive to Lani's greatgrandmother, especially if she didn't black the black iron skillets properly and in accord with his satisfaction. And, Creator forbid she failed to keep the cooking stove or floors clean enough to his satisfaction. With all due respect toward this particular Seneca man, he could haver used a strong dose of whoop ass from a Cherokee brave and some lessons in how to properly treat a woman!!!

About Me

hi my name is Ruben but my indian name is 'Young Bear' as given to me by an Lakota elder that i know and is close friends with. i was told as a  kid that i'm mixed Cherokee and other various of tribes but i was then too young to fully understand how deep and rich my heritage and bloodline truely was untill i grew older and stated doing research on pow wows and the culture itself. in 2009 age 18 (yea i'm a young cub lol) i became more spiritually connected to my heritage after realizing how much i shoud be proud of the bloodline i have. i been raised by my grandmother who is half cherokee, half black with some seminole and she was married to my grandfather who was cree and my grandmother always kept things to our traditional ways. like when i was 16 yrs old in '07 when i onced had long hair,my graandmother would always braid my hair either in seminole style braiding or traditional cherokee style (and she wouldn't let me wear my hair freely/unbraided caause i looked so much like my mother she said i looked like a girl if i didn't braid my hair LOL) but i wished i knew how great my heritage was when i was younger but i guess things happen at the time it suposed to happen or meant to happen so i guess it wasn't meant for me to rep my pride for my bloodline and heritage untill now.

and the music i love listening to are Metal/Rock,Punk-Rock,pop rock,Native American Hip-Hop/Rap,mainstream rap/hiphop,Traditional Native music (flute and pow wow music),Pop,Techno/Electronic/Dance,and a tiny bit of New Age
